So you want a web site? Well, there are two pieces that you need to have your own web site. A domain name and a web hosting provider.

A common Domain Name Service (DNS) provider is GoDaddy. You've seen their commercials during the Super Bowl. This is where you buy your name, such as deanansleyphotos.com.

A hosting provider is where you store your files that make up your web site. This is where you upload your HTML documents, button images, photos and so forth.

I had hosted another site using a hosting service that charged less than $4.00 a month and ended up having issue after issue. The final straw was the server hard drive crashing and loosing portions of my site.

A friend refered me to DreamHost and I've been using them ever since. It costs a little more but I have unlimited storage space and can host all my domains with a single account and haven't had any issues with their hosting service.
